Lineup
FISTULA
Ohio’s sludge icons FISTULA bring decades of filth, fury, and anti-everything attitude to Tokyo. Their sound drags doom through the gutter, soaked in distortion and feedback-drenched precision. Every song feels like a slow-motion collapse designed to crush hope and eardrums alike. Expect suffocating volume, nihilistic tone, and a performance that feels more like a breakdown than a concert.
COFFINS
Japan’s death-doom overlords COFFINS return with their signature wall of distortion and dread. Their riffs crawl forward like rusted machinery grinding through the abyss, each note packed with decay and menace. Combining doom’s desolate pace with death metal’s brutal execution, they’ve become one of Japan’s most respected global exports. Their live sets are oppressive, hypnotic, and undeniably heavy, leaving audiences flattened in awe.
GUT EXPLOSION
Tokyo’s Gut Explosion embodies the grotesque, grinding heart of Japan’s extreme music underground. Their pornogrind assault mixes filthy humor with jaw-dropping speed and precision, where blastbeats and guttural roars collide in glorious chaos. Beneath the twisted presentation lies real technical discipline and perverse artistry. Every performance is a chaotic explosion of sound and satire, pushing the crowd to its limits with infectious absurdity.
PRESENCE OF SOUL
Presence of Soul offers a haunting, emotional counterpoint to the evening’s destruction. Their atmospheric doom blends melody, melancholy, and heaviness into cinematic crescendos of beauty and collapse. With layered guitars, ghostly vocals, and waves of distortion, their music invites deep reflection before the next storm of sound hits. Every note feels deliberate, every silence carries tension, and their set lingers long after the final tone fades.
Venue - Nakano Moonstep
Nakano Moonstep stands as one of Tokyo’s key hubs for underground music. With a reputation built on punk, sludge, and grindcore, this compact venue offers one of the city’s purest live house experiences. Its graffiti-lined walls, low ceilings, and floor-level stage make every performance feel intimate and unfiltered. The sound is raw, the beer is cheap, and the energy is always unpredictable. For the heavy music faithful, Moonstep is sacred ground.
Beyond its walls of feedback and graffiti, Nakano Moonstep functions as a vital hub for Tokyo’s underground lifeblood. It’s where scenes intersect — punks, doomheads, noise artists, and metal purists share the same sweat-soaked floor. The venue’s reputation isn’t built on polish but on devotion. Artists and fans come here to test their limits, to find communion through distortion. When the lights dim and the amps ignite, Moonstep becomes less a venue and more a furnace for raw, creative combustion.
