Lineup

Hullu!

Hullu! is a respected force in the global hardcore punk scene, hailing from Finland, a country synonymous with the unrelenting D-Beat sound. Their music is characterized by blistering speed, raw production, and relentless, propulsive drumming that drives their distinct style of Swedish Hardcore.

As a key contributor to the modern raw punk movement, Hullu! delivers unforgettable, high-octane performances that have resonated with fans worldwide. Their sound is firmly rooted in the legacy of classic Finnish acts but performed with a contemporary fury that will resonate deeply with the Tokyo underground. Their set is guaranteed to be a relentless, politically-charged noise one, further cementing the event's status as a top-tier international D-Beat showcase.

HUMAN ARTS

HUMAN ARTS is a historically significant hardcore punk project led by Yoshihiro Hiraoka, the influential vocalist of the seminal Japanese hardcore band, Poison Arts. Emerging from the legendary 1980s Tokyo punk scene, they are a vital component of the aggressive "Burning Spirits" movement, representing a foundational era of the genre.

Their music is characterized by anthemic, high-energy tracks that maintain a raw, foundational punk sound that has directly influenced countless later bands. They are a crucial link between the formative days of Japanese Hardcore and the contemporary scene, bringing decades of experience and uncompromising intensity.

経血 (Keiketsu)

経血 (Keiketsu) is a powerhouse in the Japanese hardcore punk scene, originating from Ibaraki Prefecture and a consistent presence in the Tokyo underground. Their sound is distinctively "Showa-style," aggressively blending raw hardcore energy with the melodic structures of classic Japanese popular song (kayōkyoku). This unique, highly theatrical approach has solidified their reputation as a band that challenges genre boundaries while maintaining a ferocious intensity.

illya

illya is a veteran Japanese hardcore punk band that formed in 2006, establishing a solid and respected presence in the Tokyo underground circuit. Their style is characterized by unrelenting speed, driving rhythms, and a commitment to the classic, uncompromised sound of traditional Japanese Hardcore. Their longevity in the notoriously demanding scene speaks volumes about their credibility and dedication to the punk ethos.

While perhaps less widely documented than some contemporaries, their consistent contribution to the genre makes them a crucial booking for the Tampere Hullu!! event. They continue to deliver intense, high-energy performances across Tokyo, making them a consistent and respected fixture.

Military Shadow

MILITARY SHADOW is a relentless Tokyo-based force specializing in the fierce subgenre known as Metal Punk, a crucial style within Japanese hardcore. Their sound is a tribute, drawing heavy influence from the speed, intensity, and metallic edge of legendary acts like G.I.S.M. and Death Side, while forging their own path of auditory destruction. They embody the raw, unpolished, and uncompromising spirit of the Tokyo punk scene.

The band gained significant recognition for their powerful Metal Punk Ironfist album, which cemented their reputation for delivering crushing, high-speed riffs and relentless drumming.

Venue - Yotsuya Outbreak

Yotsuya Outbreak (四谷アウトブレイク) is a cornerstone of the Tokyo underground music community, established in 2005 in the Shinjuku ward. This legendary Tokyo live house is known for its commitment to raw, unpolished music, making it the perfect location for the Tampere Hullu!! showcase. The venue's compact size fosters an intense, intimate atmosphere, while its booking philosophy is expansive, regularly hosting extreme music, Japanese Hardcore, and noise acts. This balance of diverse genres within a dedicated space has cemented its reputation as a vital hub for both local and international touring musicians who prioritize grit and authenticity over commercial polish.

The venue is particularly celebrated for fostering the kind of high-energy, DIY-focused events that the Finnish Hardcore and Japanese Hardcore collaboration represents. Unlike larger, more corporate venues in the city, Yotsuya Outbreak maintains a fiercely independent spirit, often hosting unique, themed events that are essential to the Tokyo punk scene. Its location in the central Yotsuya district, while accessible, gives it a "hidden gem" status, making it a credible and authentic choice for a specialized niche event like this ultimate Finnish-Japanese hardcore punk collaboration.
